RV BUYING GUIDE: POPULAR TOY HAULER FLOORPLANS

/ By Lazydays - Featured Products
Whether you’re looking to haul motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles or jet skis, a toy hauler RV is the best way to do it.

Forget about towing an additional trailer for your toys. With the right RV, you can safely and securely transport your gear without sacrificing living space.

There are a number of different toy hauler floorplans to consider. Use our toy hauler RV buying guide to understand all the options, so that you can make the best choice for your needs.

Toy Hauler Options

Fifth Wheel vs Travel Trailer Vs Motorhome

One of the easiest ways to narrow down your options is to think about how you’ll be towing your new toy hauler. Fifth wheel toy haulers require a full-size pickup truck to haul them. If you don’t own a truck and plan to tow with an SUV, you’ll want to consider more lightweight travel trailer toy haulers. Take a look at the towing capacity of your vehicle and the gross vehicle weight rating of your potential RV to determine which option is right for you.

If you don’t want to tow a trailer, select Class A and Class C motorhomes come equipped with an RV garage.

RV Garage Dimensions

RV garages are typically between 7.5-8 feet wide. Length can vary from 7 feet to 18 feet depending on the model. Measure your toys before shopping, so that you know how big an RV garage you’ll actually need.

Flooring Type

Depending on the type of gear you plan to haul, the type of flooring you choose will be important. Typically, RV garage floors are either linoleum or diamond plate. Linoleum is less durable than diamond plate but looks better when using the space for living. If you opt for the diamond plate, you can always add roll away carpeting to make the space cozier when not being used as a garage.

Number of tie downs

RV garages typically come with a set number of tie downs built in for securing your toys. If you are planning to haul two quads or six motorcycles you will need a different number of tie downs. D rings can be added in later if you end up needing more.

Distinct Zones

Some RV garages open right into the living area, while other toy hauler floor plans offer more distinct zones separating the garage with either an accordion door or a sliding glass door. Having a floor plan that divides off the space can be a bonus, especially if the garage doubles as your guest room. Some toy haulers even come with a full or half bath in the RV garage area.

Party Deck

Some toy haulers have the option to use the ramp as a deck or patio. This is a nice feature to have as it essentially adds 40+ square feet to your toy hauler floor plan and is a great spot to enjoy a few drinks and a nice view.

Whichever option you choose, you’ll find the right toy hauler for you at Lazydays RV, the world’s largest RV dealership! Stop into your nearest location in Tampa, Florida; Tucson, Arizona; Denver, Loveland, or Longmont, Colorado; or Minneapolis, Minnesota to see our incredible selection of toy hauler motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth wheels.
