Chapter One

Hi! My name is Wrigley. The last name isn’t important, but I’ll get into that later. My family and I are “Wheelhouse Travelers.” What is a “Wheelhouse Traveler” you may ask? Simply put, six months of the year (and hopefully full-time in the future), we travel in our motorhome, which we’ve dubbed “The Wheelhouse.”

To be a “Wheelhouse Traveler” takes someone with great planning skills, is very organized, has a sense of humor when things go wrong, and likes being flexible, though the most important qualification is being a leader that is loved by all! This, of course, is my role.

Oh, by the way, did I mention I am a dog? Yep, a dog! So, as for that last name thing, what other dog do you know that answers to a last name? My family and friends call me Wrigley and that’s how I like it.

I am soon to be a seven-year-old American Cocker Spaniel, who has traveled short distances, long durations, and many getaway-weekend trips. There are numerous stories in the world of motorhome living, but who gets to see it through the eyes of a dog? There have been so many adventures for me on the road, such as "The Vibrating Bridge,” “Holy Smokes, An Alligator,” “Wow! What A Big Hole,” “The Search,” “The Party Crasher,” “The Rescue,” and “What Did I Just Kiss?”. I’m getting ahead of myself though.

Lazydays, The RV Authority, located in Seffner, Florida, is venturing out into the “blog world”, named The RV Authority. And, I have been lucky enough to be invited to participate and contribute my travel tales (no pun intended). I welcome you aboard to follow my column and ride life’s highway with me. I have traveled through more than 13 states, some twice, because there was so much to see. Who knows what we’ll uncover together?

Until next time, safe travels everyone.

This is the first in a series of articles By Judy Andreotti about travels with her dog Wrigley.
