Romantic Road Trip Destinations in the Grand Canyon State

/ By Lazydays - On the Road Road Trip Ideas
It's Valentine's Day, so we thought we'd post some romantic RV travel destinations in Arizona!

A romantic road trip through Arizona could be just what you need to keep the spark alive! We recommend taking your sweet time at all of these RV destinations, but if you’re short on vacation days, you can catch the highlights with a weekend getaway. Now that we're offering RV rentals from Tampa, Tucson, Denver and Loveland, you can bring your own rig or rent one from us.

First Stop, Phoenix

Start your morning with a romantic hike through Tonto National Forest. Within the forest, the Superstition Mountain Range has some amazing trails and rock formations to explore. Enjoy an afternoon horseback ride through the foothills; catch a Major League Baseball Spring Training game or head into the city for great restaurants, shopping and museums. If you’re visiting in February or March, you can travel back in time at the Arizona Renaissance Festival & Artisan Marketplace, which includes a medieval amusement park, a 13-stage theatre, an arts and crafts festival and a huge Jousting Tournament and feast! Park your RV at the Mesa/Apache Junction KOA and enjoy the year-round pool and hot tub.

Next Stop, Gila Bend

Beat the heat with an early morning hike through the Sonoran Desert National Monument, where you’ll have a chance to see snakes, reptiles, foxes, hawks, cacti and plenty of diverse ecosystems. If you’re looking for a couple’s adventure, bring your ATVs and check out the area on wheels. When you’re finished exploring, head back to the Gila Bend KOA campground for a “home-cooked” meal in your RV kitchen, followed by snuggling up with some s’mores by the campfire.

Last stop, Tucson

Looking for a desert oasis in one of the most beautiful cities in Arizona? Look no further than Tucson, Arizona. Take a romantic drive on the Mt. Lemmon Scenic Byway, where you’ll have the chance to catch breathtaking views as you approach the top of the mountain. From there, enjoy an afternoon dip in the pool at the Tucson/Lazydays KOA RV campground. For dinner, there’s no shortage of great dining options, including some of the most authentic Mexican food around. After dinner, share a laugh at the award-winning Gaslight Theatre, where you can catch comedy shows, live concerts and more!

On your way out of town, be sure to stop by our Lazydays RV dealership in Tucson where you can return your RV rental and shop for new or pre-owned RVs, RV parts and accessories and more!
