By Lazydays

Lazydays Tucson wouldn’t be the thriving RV community that it is without our dedicated staff. Part of the magic comes from many of them being RV and travel enthusiasts themselves. We recently conducted a Q&A session with some of our Tucson team members about their favorite Arizona travel destinations and the RV model on the lot that is catching their eye lately. Read what they had to say.

What’s your favorite Arizona “hidden gem” travel destination?

Jill Ray noted that Duncan is a great destination for “rockhounding”—the pursuit of interesting rocks or mineral specimens on public lands. With a population of only 700, it’s safe to say you won’t have to fight the crowds at this Arizona vacation spot.

Evan Crayder picked Mount Lemmon in Tucson as his favorite Arizona hidden gem. This beautiful mountain summit, named for botanist Sara Plummer Lemmon, is a perfect day trip destination for weekend warriors.

ForJohn Sportsman, the perfect place to go hiking, biking, and swimming is Oak Creek Canyon, located between Flagstaff and Sedona. This river gorge boasts everything from Paleozoic sedimentary rocks to rainbow trout fishing. Arizona tourism also draws people from all over the country to this spot, so you’re likely to meet some new friends during your adventures.

For those looking for Arizona travel ideas that don’t involve blazing heat, Payson is a great choice, and favorite summer destination of staff member George Crow. With relatively cooler temperatures and a beautiful coniferous landscape, this is a great spot for summer camping.

Grant Roberts prefers to get away from it all by visiting Show Low (named for a marathon poker game played by early settlers) for some quality swimming and fishing.

Cathy Newman heads to beautiful Apache Lake and Theodore Roosevelt Lake when seeking a weekend getaway and some lakeside R&R.

Which model out on the lot is your current favorite and why?

Jill Ray chose the Thor Motor Coach Four Winds for its compact size. This model is a great choice for those who are just warming up to the idea of driving a motorhome.

The Entegra Coach Anthem has quite a few fans at Lazydays RV Tucson. Evan Crayder, George Crow, and Grant Roberts all chose this model as their favorite on the lot for its superior ride, handling, build, and aesthetically pleasing design.

John Sportsman appreciates the Forest River R-Pod for its convenience and compactness. This is a model that can fit just about anywhere.

For Cathy Newman, the Grand Design Solitude is one of the best fifth wheels around. It comes with an excellent warranty program and has a second-to-none design.
