Want achieve better gas mileage and not have to spend a whole bunch of money replacing tires? You can accomplish these two desirable goals by properly maintaining the manufacturer’s suggested tire pressure.

Getting Started

Before each trip, once you are done packing your RV or motorhome, it’s essential to weigh your vehicle and and inflate the tires to the proper level according to the manufacturer’s requirements. By doing inflating the tires to the proper level, they will wear more evenly and make your RV more comfortable to drive.

Inflating Interior Dual Tires

Be sure that you can easily check the pressure in each tire. If checking the pressure becomes inconvenient, you are less likely to do so. The valve stem on some tires may be difficult to reach, especially those on the inside dual sets. To solve this problem, you can visit our Lazydays Parts in Tampa or Tucson or log online to purchase a stainless-steel extension for the inside tire’s stem. Now, it becomes easier to reach.

Simply install a secure holder on the outer dual wheel’s hubcap to hold the extension’s outer end while traveling a highway speeds.

Avoiding Problems

Doing a proper check of your tires’ condition before each trip and everyday during the trip will help you become aware of any potential problems. This daily check becomes more important as you travel through different climates or take on more passengers. More passengers obviously mean more weight. However, cold and warm temperatures will cause the air inside the tires to contract and expand. The contraction and expansion will require adjustments to the pressure. One alternative to the contraction and expansion is the use of nitrogen-filled tires. Nitrogen doesn’t react to the climate in the same fashion as atmospheric air and will help the tires maintain a constant pressure.
