Arizona is packed with some of the best camping destinations in the United States. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation or a little of both, there’s a camping destination with exactly what you’re seeking in the Grand Canyon State. The following are three of our favorite campgrounds in Arizona, but if you get out and explore, we guarantee you’ll find some favorites of your own.

Oak Creek Canyon

Arizona’s Oak Creek Canyon offers some of the most breathtaking, nature-filled campgrounds in the entire state. The Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive, a 14-mile drive between Sedona and Flagstaff, was rated one of the Top 5 Most Scenic Drives in America by the Rand McNally company. Even better, there are tons of places to pull your Airstream over and camp in the Oak Creek Canyon, including the Manzanita Campground, Cave Springs and the Pine Flat Campground.

Havasupai Campground

The Havasupai Campground offers a gateway to some of Arizona’s best natural wonders — the famous Grand Canyon and Havasupai Falls. Although, you’ll want to bring your hiking boots to get to your destination. The Havasupai Campground can only be accessed by hiking, horseback or helicopter, making it one of Arizona’s best kept secrets. When you arrive at the end of the 11-mile hike, you’ll be blown away by some of the most impressive waterfalls in the United States. And there’s no doubt you’ll appreciate your RV when you return to it after a day or two of tent camping.

Arizona’s White Mountains

If you’ve already been to a number of Arizona’s most famous sites, Josh Ranch is the next destination you need to visit. This luxurious RV resort offers a special RV experience that’s unlike any other in the state. The Josh Ranch is located 15 miles from Alpine, Ariz., and features just six exclusive RV camping spots in the tall pines of the White Mountains. Whether you’re into horseback riding, trout fishing, mountain biking, hunting, hiking or sightseeing, every member of your family will go home with unforgettable stories to tell.
